 | Dating back to 1963, the prestigious WWE Championship has been held by the greatest of in-ring competitors from "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers and Bruno Sammartino, to Hulk Hogan and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. In recent years it has been held by the likes of Triple H, Randy Orton, John Cena, and Edge.

The Chairman  | | Unlike the other championships currently defended on RAW and SmackDown!, the United States Championship did not start out as a WWE sanctioned championship. Rather, the U.S. Championship got its roots in WCW. Many of wrestling's greatest names have staked claim to the U.S. Championship during the title's early years, and it quickly became one of wrestling's most prestigious titles. In the late 1990s, the U.S. Championship lost some of its value due to it being constantly vacated. Since 2003, however, it has resided in WWE and has been held by many greats including John Cena, Eddie Guerrero, and Booker T.

The Chairman | | When the Women's Championship became exclusive property of the Raw brand in 2002, the Divas of SmackDown had no gold to fight for. Melina made an attempt to bring the Women's title to the blue brand in 2005, but SmackDown never saw women's championship gold. Finally, in 2008, then-SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero sanctioned a new title for the Divas on SmackDown. Michelle McCool was the first to hold the new championship, and since then, multiple Divas after her have "netted the butterfly" so to speak.
