Cruiserweight Championship

Originally a WCW sanctioned championship, it was defended amongst many greats in WCW's exciting cruiserweight division. In 2001, it was brought to WWE in the Invasion and replaced the WWE Light Heavyweight Championship soon after. Since then, it was defended on SmackDown until 2007, when the belt was deactivated and WWE's once-great Cruiserweight Division declined.

European Championship

Introduced in 1997, the European Championship was, appropriately enough, first decided in Berlin, Germany, where The British Bulldog defeated Owen Hart in the finals of a tournament. It wasn't defended in the United States often until Shawn Michaels won it from The British Bulldog at One Night Only in Birmingham, England. From then on, it was defended in U.S. soil as well as anywhere else. It was temporarily deactivated in 1999 when Shane McMahon won the championship. It was brought back only two months later. It was finally retired in 2002 when Intercontinental Champion Rob Van Dam defeated European Champion Jeff Hardy to unify the titles.

Hardcore Championship

The Hardcore Championship was one of the most unique championships to ever be defended in WWE. It was originally given to Mankind, aka Mick Foley, by Mr. McMahon. The rules of how to defend the championship even evolved with time, and it was eventually defended under 24/7 rules. That meant that the Hardcore Champion could be pinned at any time, any place, as long as a referee was around to make the three-count. With this 24/7 rule, the championship saw more title holders in its 5-year history than some titles ever see.

Light Heavyweight Championship

WWE's original championship for the lighter weight class, this championship has one of the shorter histories of all the WWE. Sanctioned in 1997, it was held by only 11 champions for 13 reigns, before being dropped in favor of the Cruiserweight Championship in 2001.
