Superstars Results for 4/8/2010
With three weeks until the Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View event, the Superstars of Raw and SmackDown brought everything to WWE Superstars Thursday night.
Beth Phoenix def. Layla
Much like they have to Mickie James in the past, Michelle McCool, Layla, and Vickie Guerrero made fun of the size of Beth Phoenix, calling her the "Man-azon" Vickie Guerrero then used her authority to refuse Beth Phoenix an opportunity at the Women's Championship, as she supposedly isn't a Diva. She then made an "Inter-gender" match pitting Beth Phoenix against Layla. In what was a great performance, Beth Phoenix defeated Layla, and sent a message to Women's Champion Michelle McCool.
Evan Bourne & Yoshi Tatsu def. Chavo Guerrero & Zack Ryder
Yoshi Tatsu has been on a roll lately. Tonight was no exception, as Tatsu teamed up with the high-flying Evan Bourne to take on Chavo Guerrero and Zack Ryder. Despite a great showing from Chavo Guerrero and Zack Ryder, (as well as the accompaniment of Ryder's girlfriend Rosa Mendes) it was a Shooting Star Press from Evan Bourne that took out Chavo Guerrero and scored the win for Team Bourne.
MVP def. Carlito
NXT Rookie Michael Tarver followed his mentor Carlito onto Superstars for this match, hoping to learn something from his WWE Pro, that and the fact that "Mr. 1.9" has had multiple run-ins with MVP in the recent past. Tarver is indeed a Rookie, and Rookies tend to make mistakes. These mistakes, intended to help Carlito, hurt Carlito, and cost Carlito a dropkick... and the match. It goes without saying that Carlito will have a long talk with his winless Rookie after tonight.
