For the past few weeks, NXT Rookie Michael Tarver has tried and tried, and TRIED.... to help Carlito win a match. Once again, his inexperience cost his mentor. One man who had the opposite luck, was Yoshi Tatsu, who continued his winning ways with another victory.
Shad Gaspard def. Goldust
Since the split of Cryme Tyme, JTG and Shad Gaspard have both been competing with a newfound aggression. Tonight, Shad put his power on display in prelude to the Strap Match at Extreme Rules. Tonight, he faced the bizarre veteran, Goldust. The Bizarre One used everything in his arsenal in an attempt to stop the behemoth from Brooklyn, but he simply couldn’t overpower Gaspard.
Yoshi Tatsu def. Zack Ryder
Few Superstars have been experiencing the kind of success in 2010 that Yoshi Tatsu has been enjoying. Since winning the 26-Man Battle Royal at WrestleMania, the Japanese Superstar has been kicking his way through the competition and continued to do so tonight. Going one-on-one with Zack Ryder, Tatsu showed off the educated feet he’s known for, destroying his opponent with a series of bone-shattering strikes on his way to victory.
John Morrison def. Carlito
After the disappointing events of tonight’s main event, as well as the last few weeks, Carlito might be ready for Michael Tarver to be eliminated from NXT. As has been the trend for the Rookie and his Cool Pro, the young competitor attempted to help Carlito grab a victory on “WWE Superstars” and ended up costing him the match. Still, it’s hard to say whether or not the Puerto Rican Superstar would have defeated John Morrison anyway. The Friday Night Delight was absolutely explosive in this main event, hitting Carlito with an array of dazzling maneuvers on his way to victory
